Prophecy is the foretelling of events about someone or something and it comes to pass, one hundred percent of the time. In this study, we will look at prophecies about Christ hundreds of years before He was around come to pass in the New Testament.
Through the Bible we find that the Old Testament and New Testament work together. As a matter of fact we find in the book of Hebrews that the Old Testament is a shadow of the New Testament (Hebrews 8:5; 10:1). This means that they mirror image each other. The Old Testament simply gave us an outline as to what was coming in the New Testament. One of the ways that we can see how real the scripture is, is by how they compliment one another. You will never see the scriptures contradict each other. This is why we see that the way scripture is verified as legitimate (cannon) is through the complimenting of the Old and New Testaments. Now, the same is true when we look at the prophecies in the Old Testament being fulfilled in the New. If for any reason any of these prophecies about Christ were not fulfilled then we would know that we are not following after the real Christ. However, as I will show you in this table, we will look at prophecies about Christ hundreds of years before He was around come to pass in the New Testament. Before we go any further I want to clarify what prophecy is. Prophecy is the foretelling of events about someone or something and it comes to pass, one hundred percent of the time. The scriptures in the Old Testament are God’s way of telling us who is to come and a way for us to identify Him. The possibilities of all these prophecies being pin-point accurate about the same person is “nearly” impossible. I had to use the word “nearly” because the only possibility that all of these predictions (foretelling) would come true was if God was behind it all. And He was.
