How do we as believers view the world that we live in? We as believers have been infected with the way the world views things. When we view people we should look at them the same way the Lord looks at them...their standing with the Lord.

In this day and age, as well as the time past, we have a problem very similar to the problems of the Colossians. We work to get right with God. This is so far from the truth of the scripture. As a matter of fact this is in complete contradiction as to who God is.

In today’s world, we live in a warning infested place. Everywhere we turn we are being warned. We are warned with the toys that the kids play with, vehicles we drive, tools that we use, and yes even our soda bottles. We are warned in order to keep us safe and away from the things that will bring us harm. In Colossians, we see the same. Paul warns the believers.

The Lord Jesus Christ is our Reconciler, but what does that really mean? If Jesus is the reconciler, who did He reconcile? And finally what does this mean to you and I?

Many times in this walk with the Lord, we find ourselves stuck in the thought that it is all about us. Sure, we do not come right out and say it but when you get down to the nitty gritty we do think and live like this.

Throughout the scriptures that God has given to us we find that we are continually challenged to not only to read His word but also to decipher it. We are called to study and divide the word of truth.

Through this book we will be introduced to a true God fearing man, the infinite wisdom and power of God, and in between we will see the limited understanding of man.

An expository study of John chapter 1.

In this area of study we will be looking at body piercing and tattooing. This, much like the other areas of study regarding liberal conservatives, is one that most Christians are not willing to make a stand on. Why? Why won’t people make a stand against doing body art? Is it because believers are unaware where God stands on the issue? Is it the fact that people have let the world begin to shape the thoughts of the believer?

Prophecy is the foretelling of events about someone or something and it comes to pass, one hundred percent of the time. In this study, we will look at prophecies about Christ hundreds of years before He was around come to pass in the New Testament.

Divorce is another one of the items that we as believers will not discuss with others. Maybe it is because we don’t know enough about it or maybe it is because we don’t want to know about it.

This study provides a synopsis of each book of the Old Testament. Knowing the Old Testament is critical to truly understanding the character of God.

The nature of man is a very important topic because most of the time this is the basis for all that we believe. By understanding how one interprets the nature of man, you can usually grasp the rest of what they believe about the Word of God and who He is.

Through out the Old Testament scripture we see time and again the subject of tithing. This is a common practice that we see mandated by God in the Old Testament.

Foul language is very serious, so serious that God tells us not to do it. Foul language may be a part of your life but if you truly love the Lord it shouldn't be. Lets look at what the Bible has to say about it.

I have found in my studies that we as Christians are not willing to take God’s word for exactly as it is (not all people, but most). There is the excuse of saying that God’s word is outdated. Let's look at this point for a moment.

The saddest thing about the ten commandments is the fact that most people don’t know all ten of them and they can’t tell you where to find them. All they know is that they are somewhere in the Bible. I guess that’s a good start, right?

The fruit of our lives is very important because we can evaluate our walk with the Lord as well as the walk of other believers and non-believers.

In the writing "Fruit of the Spirit", we find the evidence of a true believer in Christ. In this writing we will find the evidence of the flesh, the unbeliever.

Homosexuality is one of the “forbidden topics of discussion.” There are so many things that we as Christians must make a stand for, homosexuality being our focal point right now, but the world has either convinced us that this activity is okay or that it is not our place to make the people aware of their wrong doing.

This holiday called Halloween is a worldly holiday. What do I mean by worldly? That means that it is a holiday that is not intended to glorify God.

This is a religious holiday that is widely celebrated in the Latino community especially those of Mexico. The celebration is to commemorate the Biblical story of the Magi (Three Kings) which followed the star to Bethlehem.

Kwanzaa is an African American and Pan-African holiday which was established in 1966 in the midst of the black freedom movement. This is a cultural holiday and not a religious one which was started to celebrate family, community, and culture.

How often do trials and tribulation come your way? How often do you need to make decisions? You as a believer, need to be prepared for every circumstance that comes your way. The first thing that needs to mentioned, is that you need to handle every circumstance exactly the way that God wants you to. And how would you be able to handle these circumstances the way that God would want you to unless you know what God says, in His word?

One of the greatest fears that Christians have is memorizing Scripture. Before we look into some helpful ways that I have found in remembering God's word, I want to show you why it is important.

This is a page of words that are often used when describing particular studies. As you look over this list you will notice that they all end with “logy.” This a combining form which means field of scientific study or discipline. In other words, when you see a word that ends in “logy” it means that there is a study of something.

There are numerous ways to share our faith and in another page we will examine how to share our faith. However our objective in this writing is to examine why we know that regardless of how we do it we know that we must do it.

The purpose of fasting is to tune in our focus to the Master. By giving up something for the Lord you find that you focus on the Him more. This is a discipline that we are to take part in as believers.

Through my growth in the Lord I always wondered, in what posture should I pray? Was there a way in the Old/New Testament that was required? Is there a way that we must do it now?

As ministers of the word of God, we have to know that we are not in this work for ourselves or by ourselves. A Minister's Calling reminds us that it was not us that chose to do the work of God, but on the contrary, it was God Himself that chose us to do His work. Believing and trusting that fact, we will understand that God has given us the resources necessary to do the work of the kingdom.

As the article is titled, we will be looking at the commission and the work of a minister. Our direction as ministers has been spelled out for us through the Bible. What do we as ministers do? How do we lead the people? Can we show them what to do and how to do it? These are just a few questions to get you to think about what you do as ministers.

In today’s time it can be very easy for a minister to miss the purpose that God has for us. So many times we get caught up in the tradition of preaching opposed to sticking to the Biblical purposes for the minister. Let us look through the Bible to see what the Lord has for us as preachers and teachers.

The title of this article is “The Aim of The Preacher” because we want to focus on the minister/preacher. This is not a writing of your duties and responsibilities as a minister to the people that we serve. However, this is a writing about your duties and responsibilities to yourself in your relationship with God.

In this writing we will look at the calling of a minister through God’s word. The first, and most important, thing that we must look at is the fact that our calling into the ministry is not because of us choosing to preach the gospel. The choosing process is not up to us. It is God who has chosen us to be the minister/preacher.

He has been given “a name which is above every name.” Again, notice that there is no room for improvement. His preeminence and holiness can not be challenged by any. This is because of what has been done. Christ was obedient unto death and therefore has been given a name that has been and will be talked about forever.

As Christians (believers in Christ), our desire and focus should be to have Him as our role model. We should stop looking for any other person to look up to. Christ is our greatest example of what we should be.

Sometimes when we read the Bible we seem to forget that the people that are being talked about or doing the writing are people just like you and I. As we begin to look at the dilemma of Paul we find that he dealt with the same items as you and I. This is one of many things that encourages us as believers to trust in the word of God because it is not outdated or old fashioned. What Paul dealt with then are the same issues that we deal with today.

In the following verses we will see true confidence. This confidence is not the type of confidence that the world has to offer. In the world we find confidence within ourselves but in the word of God we find that true confidence is with our Lord.
